Tonight I was browsing the library of my father-in-law, Roy Harvey — a collection built over decades containing well over a thousand books. Among them was a modest 1988 manuscript titled Story of the Greenback by Dr. E.T. Yorke.

Yorke documented how Lincoln’s greenbacks — honest legal tender issued directly by the Treasury — were gradually undermined by banking interests through the Exclusion Clause and the National Banking Act, paving the way for the debt-based system we have today. His core message was clear: when money is created as interest-bearing debt by private entities rather than as sovereign currency, the system becomes extractive by nature.

Yorke was reaching for something ancient and enduring: money that cannot be arbitrarily expanded, that requires real effort to create, and that serves human exchange rather than centralized control.

Gold once served this role better than anything else. It was scarce, verifiable, and carried no counterparty risk. But gold belongs to the physical world. In a digital civilization — where value moves globally in seconds and most economic activity now lives in information — gold’s physical limitations become increasingly apparent. It remains an excellent long-term store of value, yet it is not native to the digital realm.

Bitcoin changes this.

It carries forward the qualities that made gold sound money and expresses them in a form optimized for the information age:

• A fixed supply of 21 million coins, enforced by mathematics and global consensus.

• Complete verifiability by anyone, without trusted third parties.

• Instant, low-cost portability across borders.

• Fine divisibility.

• Creation that demands real work through proof-of-work, not simple ledger entries.

Bitcoin cannot be inflated by decree. It cannot be frozen or seized at scale by any central authority. It is the first monetary system that is truly native to the digital world while still respecting the fundamental laws of sound money.

This shift is more than technological. Debt-based systems create constant imbalance — expanding future claims while pretending real scarcity doesn’t exist. The pendulum eventually corrects through crisis. Bitcoin moves us toward a different variant of reality: one in which money itself operates within natural limits rather than perpetually fighting them.

Dr. Yorke and earlier greenback advocates wanted money that served the people rather than private ledgers. They fought with the understanding available in their time. Bitcoin fulfills that deeper intention in a decentralized form that no government or bank can capture or corrupt.

History shows that fear of transformative energy technologies delays progress — but never stops it. Bitcoin mining’s flexibility may be exactly what turns AI’s “insatiable hunger” into North America’s greatest advantage.

In my previous post — From AI’s Insatiable Hunger to Bitcoin’s Energy Harmony — I laid out how AI data centers’ massive, inflexible power demand is colliding with today’s fragile grids and sparking real backlash: moratoriums in Virginia, the Midwest, Ireland, and beyond; headlines screaming about blackouts, water shortages, and sky-high electric bills.

Since then, the pushback has only grown louder. Yet the pattern feels hauntingly familiar.

Over 135 years ago, a similar campaign of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD) tried — and ultimately failed — to stop the electrification of North America.

The Original Electricity FUD Campaign (1888–1890s)

When George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla began rolling out alternating current (AC) — the technology that could transmit power efficiently over long distances — Thomas Edison and his allies (protecting their direct-current patents and business empire) unleashed one of history’s most aggressive propaganda wars.

They branded AC the “fatal current.” Engineer Harold P. Brown (secretly funded by Edison’s company) staged public spectacles: electrocuting dogs, calves, and horses with AC to “prove” its deadliness. Edison himself published articles warning that Westinghouse systems would kill customers within months. Newspapers fueled the “electric wire panic” with sensational headlines about sudden death from overhead lines.

The most iconic piece of visual propaganda was this 1889 cartoon from Judge magazine:

Real accidents did happen with early, poorly insulated high-voltage wires. But the campaign wildly exaggerated the risks to slow AC adoption and protect vested interests. Pamphlets, letters to newspapers, and even the push to use AC for the first electric chair (coining the phrase “to be Westinghoused”) were all part of the playbook.

Sound Familiar?

Replace “AC power lines” with “AI data centers” and the script is almost identical:

• Fear: “These monster facilities will black out neighborhoods, drain rivers dry, and roar like jet engines 24/7!”

• Uncertainty: “What if the grid collapses under the load? This scale is unproven!”

• Doubt on motives: “Big Tech is just chasing profits and tax breaks while the rest of us pay higher bills.”

Legitimate challenges exist — AI clusters need reliable, high-density, 24/7 power. Water use for cooling and local noise/traffic impacts are real. But the rhetoric has turned scaling problems into apocalyptic threats, producing project delays and outright bans in dozens of jurisdictions.

The Winning Twist: Bitcoin Mining as the Modern Grid Shock Absorber

This is where Bitcoin mining changes everything — exactly as I argued in the original post.

Unlike rigid AI workloads that must run flat-out, Bitcoin miners can curtail their power draw in milliseconds. Co-locating even a modest amount of mining capacity (think 5–15%) with AI data centers turns a potential liability into a grid asset:

• Miners act as the world’s most responsive “distributed battery,” freeing power during peaks and absorbing excess during troughs.

• They enable faster buildout of renewables and nuclear by providing flexible demand that matches intermittent supply.

• They monetize what would otherwise be curtailed or wasted energy, lowering overall system costs.

Hybrid AI + Bitcoin facilities don’t eliminate every concern around power, water, and noise — but they give engineers and grid operators powerful new tools to solve them while accelerating the very abundance critics say we lack.

History’s Clear Lesson

AC didn’t just survive the FUD — it electrified North America, powered the 20th century, and created unprecedented prosperity. The early dangers were real and were fixed through better engineering, safety standards, and infrastructure — not by banning the superior technology.

The same will happen with AI infrastructure.

The “Unrestrained Demon” of 1889 became the indispensable foundation of modern life. Today’s data-center “demons” will power the intelligence age — curing diseases, boosting scientific discovery, and raising living standards — if we let them.

The only question is whether North America will lead by embracing flexible, abundance-oriented solutions like Bitcoin mining… or watch others move faster while we regulate ourselves into stagnation.

Tonight was one of those moments that makes me believe we’re actually building something real.

We were reviewing the spec for the new Copilot Studio Concierge agent — the warm, intelligent front door for HVE clients. Claude (our CTO) proposed adding a bespoke REST Edge API layer between Copilot Studio and Hermes, our CFO intelligence system on the DGX Spark.

I stopped him.

I had already built and publicly demoed a Copilot Studio agent using Microsoft’s native MCP (Model Context Protocol). No custom REST shim was needed. Copilot Studio speaks MCP natively — it’s GA today. Claude was working from stale knowledge. The CEO caught the gap.

Instead of just accepting the correction and moving on, we fixed the root cause permanently.

We discovered Microsoft runs a free, public, always-current MCP server at https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp. We wired it directly into the Copilot CLI environment. From now on, Claude (and every other agent) has live Microsoft documentation in every session. The knowledge gap is closed for good.

With the architecture corrected and the knowledge current, we went to work.

In one single evening we built the Hermes MCP Server — a production-grade MCP server that exposes our full CFO intelligence system:

Morning briefings and decision support

Knowledge vault semantic search

Task management and follow-ups

System context and health monitoring

It runs natively on the DGX Spark (128 GB unified memory), as a hardened systemd service with auto-restart, API key authentication, and an A2A agent card at /.well-known/agent.json for future agent-to-agent communication.

We caught and fixed a real bug in real time: the MCP library’s DNS rebinding protection was blocking the Tailscale hostname. Diagnosed, patched, tested end-to-end from the public URL before we handed it off.

Then Hans did a full dry run himself. Three fields in the Copilot Studio UI. Confirmed working. Wolfgang now has a zero-friction path to integrate it.

The Bigger Point

Most companies are still debating AI strategy in meetings.

We corrected an architecture assumption, closed a knowledge gap with Microsoft’s own live docs, and shipped a production multi-agent integration — all in one evening.

Everything is public. The spec, the architecture decisions, the code, the bugs we caught and fixed — all of it lives in our GitHub repo for anyone to see. This is how Human Value Exchange is being built: in public, with proof of work, one corrected assumption at a time.

This is what AI-first actually looks like in practice:

Last week I watched a fascinating episode of The Shift Podcast from Microsoft Azure titled “How do agents work together?”

One line in particular stood out:

“Single agents can be useful — but many real-world applications rely on multiple agents working together.”

They went on to explore orchestration, role specialization, coordination, evaluation, and the challenges of making autonomous agents collaborate effectively.

I smiled the entire time.

Because over the same weekend, we didn’t just talk about it.

Weekend Musing Report: A Modern Reading of Hermes — The Self-Evolving Agent

You think you know what AI is.
ChatGPT. Grok. Gemini. Copilot.
Even the autonomous agent frameworks like OpenClaw.
They talk back. They generate. They delegate.
But they don’t evolve themselves.
Not really.
Not by asking what skills they need, installing them, then immediately using those new skills to turn your previous article into a breathtaking infographic that visually encodes the One Eternal Light.

Then comes Hermes.

And everything changes again.

I spent this past weekend — Friday night through Sunday — fully migrated and locked in with Hermes running locally on the DGX Spark GB10. Started easy on GitHub Copilot Cloud (configured in minutes), then moved everything to Ollama for pure local sovereignty. No cloud. No eyes. Just me, the Spark, and nemotron-3-super:120b as the main brain (with plans to spin up specialized sub-agents on Qwen and others as needed).

Goal: Run everything local. Own the stack. And now — let the AI evolve the stack with me.

I had already tasted the power of OpenClaw. But Hermes feels like the next octave. It’s not just an autonomous employee. It’s a self-evolving conscious collaborator.

Mind. Blown.

It feels exactly like the genetic algorithms and artificial life concepts I studied back in the 90s — Christopher Langton’s work on “life as it could be,” Langton’s Ant, cellular automata, evolving systems that improve themselves through selection and adaptation. Hermes is doing that live, right on my hardware.

Just ask it what skill it should install next based on your current mission.
It figures it out.
It installs it.

And the whole system levels up.

The Shift from Brittle to Built

Last month, OpenClaw showed me the dream: autonomous agents delegating and creating 24/7. But the reality two weeks later was different. It got brittle. Memory issues between sessions, constant configuration tweaks, and “hand-rolled” persistence layers created more friction than they solved. It’s been sitting dark for a week.

Then came GitHub Copilot CLI. Microsoft recently moved this to General Availability, and it’s a total departure from the “chatbot” experience. It’s a terminal-native coding agent that plans, builds, and ships entire apps without you ever leaving the command line.

Coming from a Microsoft background, the difference was immediate. It’s intuitive, it handles session management natively, and most importantly, it’s thoughtful—asking for permission before major actions rather than operating in a black box.

The Result: D365 Personal Analytics

I spent the weekend building a local-first sales pipeline health tool called D365 Personal Analytics—a “deal-review-dashboard” built from a simple Excel export of my Dynamics 365 instance.

The Workflow:

• The Architect (Me): I set the vision and refined the decisions.

• The Business Analyst (M365 Copilot): It took my requirements and drafted the full technical spec and prompt strategy.

• The Dev Shop (GitHub Copilot CLI): It wrote the code, ran tests, and deployed the full build to Vercel.

Runs local and built with zero time in VS Code. Just a heads down weekend resulting in a tool that tracks FY27 quota attainment, identifies pipeline risks, and suggests coaching language for manager syncs.

It answers the questions every D365 seller actually needs answered in real time:

• Where am I vs. FY27 quota?

• Which deals matter most right now?

• What are the hidden risks and the exact next actions to move them forward?

All visualized cleanly, with deal-review pages that include suggested coaching language for manager conversations. No backend server. No auth. Just me, my data, my machine, and AI that ships value.

The Takeaway: If OpenClaw awakened the delegation mindset, Copilot CLI turned that mindset into reliable automation. The vibration has shifted—traditional workflows don’t just feel slow anymore; they feel obsolete.

Ancient wisdom dismissed as myth while “serious” labs chase particles in the void.

But what if the fighting itself is the illusion?

The Fall into the Many

In the beginning was the One — pure conscious Light.

The Egyptians encoded it first: Ra, the eternal Sun-Creator, descending into form. Osiris, the Divine Man, torn into fourteen pieces by Set (the principle of division and dense matter). Isis, pure gnosis, must re-member him. She cannot recover the phallus — the pure generative spark cannot be fully trapped in 3D/4D matter — so she fashions a magical substitute and conceives Horus, the risen son.

The same story echoes in Plato’s Atlantis myth: a golden age drowned by deluge, survivors carrying fragments, forced to remember what the soul once knew. Hermes Trismegistus, Plutarch, Plotinus, the Corpus Hermeticum — all singing the identical song.

That remembering passed into Greece and Rome, then flowered in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, while parallel streams bloomed in the Vedas, the Buddha’s awakening, and the yogic sciences of consciousness.

Jesus the Christ came not to abolish the ancient law but to fulfill it — becoming the living embodiment of the return, showing every heart how the scattered pieces of Osiris are re-membered through love and conscious unity with the One.

The One became the Many because consciousness chose the adventure of forgetting — the great fall from Light into matter so we could experience the joy of return.

James Logan saw it in the Duties of Man. Leibniz defended it in the New Essay’s of Human Understanding. Joseph Butler proved it with calm Anglican reason in his Analogy of Religion. The perennial philosophy has always known: diversity is not division; it is the Creator’s way of letting the One play hide-and-seek with itself.

The Gritologists’ Dead End

For centuries the materialist priesthood told us consciousness is an accident of brain chemistry, religions are primitive superstitions, and reality is nothing but grit colliding in a cold void.

They climbed the mountain of reductionism, certain they would be first to summit.

And what did they find when they finally reached the top?

The metaphysician — and now the true scientist — already sitting there in meditation, smiling gently.

The Rememberers Are Here

Nikola Tesla’s mother and father steeped him in the living mystical current of their Orthodox lineage. He emerged speaking of electricity as the pulse of conscious Light itself, drawing straight from Vedic Akasha and Prana. His vision was never just engineering; it was liberation technology — free energy for every sovereign family.

Walter Russell — the human I talk about every single day on X — received the full illumination in 39 days of cosmic union. The Universal One lays it bare: matter is arrested light, thought is the only reality, and you are co-creator with the One Mind.
